Thank you for the heads-up! So, do you play a lot of fighting games, or just Street Fighter? Personally, I love them - I'm a huge fan of anything martial-arts related.

Thank you for the compliment and fave! Q is an excellent character; not my favourite of the Third Strike newcomers, but still great nonetheless.

LMFAO, Q-Bert. That's the funniest thing, you deserve a gold medal for "Best Crossover Ever".

If you like that piece, there's a load of that sort of humour in the gallery (a lot of it related to Street Fighter!) that you might find interesting. Puns are my fortΓ©, y'see... i'm not massively talented when it comes to the artistry, so mixing it with a bit of humour tends to go down well. If you're interested, you'll find the work in the 'Fan-Art' section of the gallery.

This 'Wins'. as the 'cool kids' say, for 2 very good reasons-
1) Q is easily my favorite character of the SF3 Bunch.
2) Q*Bert is a simple, hard, infuriating, but damned good fun game.

I am partial to the odd match with Q myself, as i play with all the characters, but i'm not particularly skilled. I think being able to juggle the Deadly Double Combination into a high rush punch is about as far as i go. And i don't taunt either (guilt complex!), so i don't get his full power boost.

*Blink, Blink*
I'm not sure if this is genius or insanity.
It made me laugh, and want to bang my head against the desk for a while. (Don't worry, I'm a trained professional head-smasher) So I'm not certain if I should praise the piece for the humour, or facepalm it for the bad, bad joke. Maybe I'll do both.
But kudos for thinking of the idea anyway, for good or ill...

a) Genius or insanity, eh? Well, personally i'm fine with both.
b) As for the humour, if you have a look around the gallery, you may well see that i run on three modes; fan-art, boobs, and terrible puns.
c) Thank you for the compliments!

*grins* Hurrah! I'm pleased you like the piece - Third Strike players with a sense of humour are very much appreciated 'round this way.
While i'm writing to you, i thought i'd mention that i had a look through the gallery - you're clearly a talented artist, Rick!

Aww, thanks! Yeah, I totally love Third Strike. I'm considering doing a Q cosplay sometime, actually!
For some reason, I never did think of Q Bert. Ever. XD

cardgamerdebu In reply to rickcressen [2008-02-21 18:38:04 +0000 UTC]
Q cosplay, eh? Sounds great! I'm not really a huge fan of cosplay in general, but walking around in a trenchcoat and mask breathing like Darth Vader is cool whether you're a fan of the game or not.
So, who do you play as? I'm a Gouki SA1 and Dudley SA1/3 man, m'self.

rickcressen In reply to cardgamerdebu [2008-02-22 00:33:25 +0000 UTC]
I really try to play with a whole bunch of people. I'm fairly alright with Yang and Dudley, and I'm trying to work on Remy and Q.
WIth a little screwing around, I managed to get a near 40-hit combo with Dudley. Mostly practice mode shenanigans though. XD;

cardgamerdebu In reply to rickcressen [2008-02-22 18:34:01 +0000 UTC]
A Yang player, eh? Wicked - can't remember the last time i played against.. well, any Yang players, to be honest. And Dudley... well, clearly you're a man of taste. The Duds is a legend, and no mistaking it - i should play as him more, but i'm more comfortable with Gouki. And, seeing as i play against the computer more than i play against human opponents, my strats for Dudley don't really work too well against an opponent who can parry on a sixpence (so to speak!).
Remy and Q, you say? Interesting. I'm not a charge player (maybe a little bit with Blanka, but Guile and Charlie are real non-starters for me), but i can see the potential in both characters... not hugely keen on the Remy character design, but as you've already seen i'm a paid-up member (metaphorically speaking!) of the Q fan club... wicked supers, and mixing up the dashes can be crazy cool.
I don't know whether you play online, but perhaps we could have a game on Kaillera at some point - you're clearly a cut above the usual taunt spammers and win counters, and it'd be an honour to throw down with you.
And and AND, 40 hits with the Duds? Much respect, sire!

I think my record is about 38 hits. It's a complete bitch to do (and isn't practical in an actual fight), but if done properly, it's very showy for a man of dignity and taste. Even rich snobs can be cocky once in a while!
One of my goals, ever since I was a kid, is to try to master all the fighters of a particular game. I can do a little bit with every character, but generally I've always found that versatility is a player's greatest asset.
(Secret with Remy: A lot of people will jump at you to begin the match. Hit him with his flash kick and they'll eat this every time. Even though I lost at an anime convention tourney, they always ate this at the beginning of the match. >=3)

cardgamerdebu In reply to rickcressen [2008-02-22 19:48:24 +0000 UTC]
Wicked stuff! It may be impressive, but not showy - that's more Ken's thing. And yes, i agree with you that versatility is very important - i can play a little with everyone, but i wouldn't stray away from Gouki or the other Shotos for a tournament.
An animΓ© convention tourney, eh? Well, don't be too hard on yourself, a lot of convention-goers are retards anyway. And if they keep falling for the same move to open, chances are it was more that you weren't expecting the tactics as opposed to them actually being skilled at the game. From our convos, i've got this impression that you're quite a talented player, so put it down to experience and keep on rockin'.
