Personality
Intelligent | Versatile | Supportive
While he does not claim himself to be very prodigious or any type of genius, Kazumi is at least known among his family and school acquaintances to be pretty intelligent. He enjoys helping others with their studies and focuses heavily on his own with a majority of his free time. Throughout his fast-paced life in dance, Kazumi has become pretty versatile; proving useful in both choreographing dances and tutoring with new methods for each student as he easily goes along with the flow and follows the paths easily related to. His support towards his group members and students has always made it easy for him to find good friends and even easier for him to help them grow.
Assertive | Candid | Reserved
Kazumi has never been afraid to speak his mind when needed. Stepping forward to correct someone and/or defend a friend, or even just someone he knows is being wronged, is something hes always prided himself on, though others can see the obvious negative aspects to his rash actions. Same with his candid, blunt edged words. While many closer to him, especially his dance partners, enjoy the truthful criticism from their colleague. However, most outsiders see him as more of a blunt jerk when he forgets to cushion his comments despite the helpful intent of what he was actually trying to say. While Kazumi is rather forward when expressing his feelings towards others, it's a different story when it comes to himself. He typically refuses to speak about what he is personally going through, no matter the person, and closes himself off from outwardly showing emotions.
Panicky | Hesitant | Moody
With Kazumi's assertive, rash way of thinking, after having stood his ground he can't help but become a bit panicked. He also has a tendency to get quite panicky when he's rushed or in a moment of quick thinking when he can't think straight. He becomes hesitant when it comes to physical confrontation and worries constantly about his actions. After finishing his work, he checks it over at least three times before presenting it or handing it in; same with his dance routines, often having many others watch and give their opinions. Kazumi does tend to get quite annoyed by others and himself often, making him a very moody, almost scary person at times. Best to just leave him be during these moments~

History
Kazumi's life was nothing too special, at least not to him. While his parents were divorced when he was about 4, his father was still involved in his life and would spend every other week taking care of him and his younger sister. Meanwhile daily life living with his mom and sister, Kaoru, was pretty typical. Go to school together in the morning, dropping Kaoru off first, coming home, doing his homework, making dinner when it was his turn, and then going to sleep to do it again the next day. Kazumi and Kaoru themselves were quite an interesting duo, however. They'd have their quarrels every now and again, but with a busy working mom they had no choice but to draw close to each other. Despite an occasional competitive streak, the two were c loser to being best friends then rivals, spending a great deal of time together, and nearly insuperable for the younger parts of their life.
That is, until at around the age of 11, Kazumi finally discovered his passion of dance when he bared witness to a couple of boys a bit older them him performing at park center with a portable stereo during a family outing. After watching them for a while, Kazumi asked his parents permission and built up the courage to go talk to the other kids and ended up hanging out with them there the rest of the day as the boy's attempted to teach him a few moves to get him started. The next week or so, Kazumi constantly pestered and begged his parents to pay for him to join their dance classes and met up with the boy's every Saturday afternoon to learn more and watch them dance until finally getting to join the classes himself, and eventually joined their dance routines in the park despite being their under classman, earning him the nickname of their cute little mascot with their age gap. From then on, they'd spend nearly every weekend setting up in a small local area (normally the park since that was easiest) and performing the dances that they'd all worked to prepare. Over time, frequent park goers would come specifically to watch earning the young dance crew some small local notoriety.
While taking his hip hop lessons he was introduced to ballet and was enamored by the precision power and grace. However, he was pretty surprised at just how different the two styles actually were, and though he faced many struggles, Kazumi decided to try his hand at learning it. During the week, he would practice after school on his own along with a few of the other dancers, and soon became good friends with the girl that would often ask for his help on routines she'd been assigned. Not long after, the girl asked to be his official partner since he didn't already have one, and together they would create new routines and continued to practice on free days and began performing formally. Eventually, after blood, sweat, and tears had been shed, their skills and progress improved tremendously and they began to get recognition for their great potential.
In school, Kazumi wasn't really the top of the entire school, but he was at least well regarded in his classes for being exceptionally smart. When he wasn't busy with dancing or family, Kazumi would offer up tutoring free to his close friends and sister and would be payed to tutor others in specific subjects to make a bit of cash on the side.
For a long time, Kazumi played a rough game tossing himself between his family relations, dance rehearsals, performing, school work, and tutoring. He enjoyed it, of course, but as he grew up it came to his attention that things couldn't go on like this. He needed to focus on a more tangible future. And so, while he would still go to perform with his friends in local areas from time to time, Kazumi's studies become top priority while he reached for a practical way of living.
Upon being accepted to Crowhaven:
Shakily grasping the letter in hand, Kazumi sat on the small stairs just before the front door for some time just starring down at the mail. No one else had woken up yet, so he couldn't be too loud, but he'd never wanted to shout and dance more then right then. All previous worries had faded away with one envelope! It was kind of a funny thought to him. He almost wanted to go start packing up right away, but he needed to tell his mom and Kaoru first!- Maybe if he made breakfast first, they'd share the same excitement that he had...
Extra:
Notable physical traits:
Light Blue Hair (Dyed: Original color is brown)
- Dyed not long ago; He and his younger sister were both allowed to dye their hair together as a celebration after learning they'd both be going to schools where hair color wasn't outlawed. (His sister was beginning homeschooling.)
Many scars and gashes in random spots
- Most, if not all, are from falling in the park during a dance and getting small gashes from the pavement.
Small tattoo of a blue rose on his left wrist (RL Example: Kazumi's Tattoo )
- Done after having quit ballet; seeing as he was leaving the dance possibly for good, him and his partner both agreed to getting small tattoos of blue roses done since the name of their final dance routine together was "Blue Rose Petal."
