You can still get spare parts, just not from anyone who buys directly from GW. They generally do know what to charge for the parts though.

It does become more difficult yes. It all depends on where you live.
I find that over here there are several (non GW)-conventions where game groups bring bitz boxes for trade.
I have done so myself in the past.
