Egypt is awesome! It's just like going through the '20s craze again!#1 - Ptolemy: "Do you want anchovy bread for lunch, Rekhyt?"
Bartimaeus is in his lion form, like in the 125BC Alexandria prologues. Ptolemy (Soter?) is only half Egyptian (the other half is Greek), but it's still awesome! Why does everyone draw him with long hair? Also, that's a lapwing design on Barti's belt. ^__^

I don't think he says anything. Who knows, I don't watch the show or read the comics, but his character design is adorable.

One note on your comment though... everyone draws Ptolemy with long hair because Bartimaeus says that he had long hair in the beginning of the first book somewhere. He wants to take Ptolemy's form to annoy Nathaniel because they look so much alike; the same long dark hair, almost the same length and so on.

Pyramid-tacular! I've only been familiar with the Discworld creations, out of your neat illustrated triptych.
I must find out more about this Bartimaeus trilogy. Anything with anthropomorphised animals like Thundercats or Avatar, I dig!

The animals from the Bartimaeus Trilogy aren't exactly animals, as such. They're actually demon spirits from another dimension who take on physical forms on whim. Some choose animal shapes, others human, or sometimes objects like smoke or bubbles or a footstool.
If you're into anthros, there's Redwall, Warrior Cats, King of the Wind (and other Marguerite Henry books if you like horses), Fire Bringer, and maybe His Dark Material, even though those technically aren't real animals.
