Yeah, but I put that down to mostly the angle, since all other official versions of Charizard have much slimmer jaw lines.

I always chalked it up to early installment weirdness. Like how Arbok used to have markings on the back of its hood, and how Charmeleon had "spikes" down the back and Pikachu used to be fat and have a pale belly.

Yeah! The original art is a bit odd, especially in game. My Pikachu is my Red game on my 3DS is very fat and has the pale belly, and it also has what looks like a smaller version of Raichu's tail. It is so strange to look at. But I am having so much fun playing the game, and a good part of that enjoyment is coming from seeing how the Pokemon use to look. XD
(4th gen was my first Pokemon game, so I have never really seen the older versions of Pokemon)

It really is, and I love it. And how glitchy and broken the first games were.

Omg. My first game was Pokemon Red when I was 7 or 8. The first gen. (The 4th gen is my least favorite gen...)
