This is Angela, a detail from 'An Evil Gathering' [link]

'An Evil Gathering' was inspired by 'Bring Me To Life' sung by Evanescence. The story below is a continuation of what I believe happened after Angela convinced Raphael to turn her into a vampire so that they could be together.

I opened the door and walked unhesitatingly into the room, holding the lantern before me. Angela seemed to materialise from the darkness itself and as she turned quickly to face me, I could see that she was still beautiful in a terrifying kind of way. Her eyes glowing dully in their sunken sockets, gave no sign of recognition. A trickle of bright red blood, in stark contrast to the deathly pallor of her skin, oozed from the corner of her open mouth. Her deadly fangs were clearly visible and the way she was looking at me made me acutely aware that at any moment she could sink them into my neck and drain the life from me.

Raphael was clearly visible in the bright moonlight, shining through the large window. Evil surrounded him like a shield, and his malevolence towards me was barely concealed. I could see the other members of the Clan silhouetted against the surface of the moon and I knew that I had to present my proposition as quickly as possible before their arrival. If Raphael agreed, it would be accepted because he was unquestionably the strongest amongst them. I knew that if I failed, the repercussions from this gathering of evil would be felt by mankind for centuries to come.

I added the source. Initially I didn't think they would be suitable but I used transform, multiply and screen plus lowered the opacity and they really are great stock.

I think it is a good idea because a lot of the details and the work entailed is lost in the larger pieces, especially at 72dpi.

Sure is hun a good idea ...thats standard 72dpi right ..

cemac In reply to jellybellyzee [2008-04-06 07:33:46 +0000 UTC]

Yes. In Photoshop I reduce the size from 300dpi, which I use for printing to 72dpi and the 'Save For Web'. I don't know if other programs do exactly this but should do something similar. I think what we do is very time consuming and we add details that no-one else can see. This is one way of letting others see the benefit of our hard work
