Greek Myths and Legends: Circe
Circe was the daughter of the sun and lived in Aeaea, an island located off the coast of Italy, where she was brought by her father Helius. The witch Circe, whose hair resembled flames had many abilities, the most well known being able to turn men into animals. She could also darken the heavens by hiding the moon and sun behind the clouds as well as being skilled with herbs and poisons. She is most remembered for her encounter with Odysseus, who was protected from her magic and his men, whom she turned into swine. You have to admire a woman like that

I love to see more of her doing her magic.   I wouldn't mind being her pet horse.

This has such a timeless appeal to it. I am very much reminded of late 1800's Victorian portraiture. Wonderful piece

Hi Cemac, theres so many places to leave messages on DA i only hope you see one of them, i have put your circe as my fave, and i have found my pics in the various sections of the site, if you can see that i've done (or not done), anything wrong do let me know, where do you first look? That would be a start. Take care H6

Nothing wrong that I can see and I have sent you a note. If you do not know how to open or send notes, just reply to this message.

Hi Cemac,
I can see where/how to send 'notes' but can't see how to open them! Doh! If you could let me know i'd be grateful.

Although the models do not belong to me, the composition is mine and I cannot see a problem...I am not very precious about what I do If you submit the finished artwork to deviantART, I would appreciate you mentioning that you used my work with my permission as a reference.

huckerback6 In reply to cemac [2012-08-05 20:35:22 +0000 UTC]

Ah thanks so much, i do appreciate that, i won't be doing it just yet as i have other thigs on the go just now, but i will certainly do as you request, regarding submitting, I don't understand your bit about 'the models', i am very new to digital matters, as you can guess?
Many thanks once again, i wish you every success. bye for now.

Hello Cemac,
I have done a Circe oil painting, of my own now but it was seeing 'your' work that inspired me! I'd like you to see it but i'm not sure how to get it on Deviant, but do look out for it i'll keep trying, and will mention your help, take care, Huckerback6

Hello Cemac, I wish i'd found your 'reply' yesterday before i plodded through the minefield of getting some of my work on the site! I will put your circe into my favourites, i had thought of that, but hadn't found out how to do it! All this has come too late in life for this old fella. I must confess i'm finding it very baffling getting about on the site.
Do let me know if you find my stuff, just so's i know it is viewable! Am i allowed to ask are you in Australia?
