even just the fact that someone is asking can be helpful..
made it for a friend of mine.. well.. at first i was just drawing that dude.. but then i decidet to draw her in it too

well.. as i said..
i was trying to depict a friendship with one person..
but in general it's about how good it feels when in the darkest situations of your life there is some one like that little bug.. even if it can't actualy help.. it still makes you feel a little better...
so.. the moral is.. we shouldn't avoid asking if we can help to people who are in truble.. even if we can't help.. just asking can make them feel better.. at least a little bit

Another great piece. I really like the texture of the wall and the shading. Do you use only color pencils?
I see a lot of your art illustrate some kind of moral or lesson to be learned. This is similar to Aesop's Fable: The Lion and the Mouse. "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."

well.. i drew it for a friend.. just to show that i appreciate what she's doing.. so it's partialy alsow a self-portrait..
but that's the best part in using symbols in drawings.. some people understand what i mean by them.. and others ponder they own versions

As I spend more and more time on dA, I'm beginning to find that it's often the simplest pictures that get most emotional response from me. The lack of (or at least reduced amount of) background detail really allows you to focus on the emotion or the idea behind the piece. This is a great example of that.
The torn out heart, the IV, the noose and the restrains (in my interpretation) are very effective symbols for the various pains we go through just from living. I like the contrast between the size of the beetle and the various symbols of pain. Still, it seems the beetle holds its own in support of its friend
What I thought was a nice touch was the bright, happy yellow of the little beetle being mirrored by the upward (positive looking) yellow balloon. It seems to represent a little ray of hope growing in your man from the offer of help. Overall, this is a beautifully simple work.
(P.S.: I really enjoyed all the other images you thumbshared, but this was the one that leapt out the most. It's a great series that you're creating.)

as for the bug having the same color as baloon.. in fact i didn't think of it in such symbols.. to be true - i just ran out of colors
yellow baloon in my works usualy depicts dreams.. something that is higher then simple goals.. and in this case holding it with teeth while being stuck in such position is alsow one of those pains..

but then i look at the little meek one.. and my heart goes... "Awwwwe"
