I spent a fair amount of time on Kaneshia's latest fancy dress design, but I'm happy with the final concept. Note that Jaden in the background has patterns carved into his antlers. In the Ritual of the Ghost Antlers, when male Cervidians shed their antlers, they bleach them out and carve patterns into them. Then they will reattach them and wear them as "Ghost Antlers" until they begin growing new antlers.Also note that Cervidians have thumbs on both sides of their hands, if anyone was wondering why their hands look odd.

I'd have to say Kaneshia and Dahlia are in my top five science fiction characters list.
What I like about the Cerivdains is how you have set up some interesting customs for them such as with the antlers or how they do things differently with humans. I could think that bucks having a hard time growing antlers would be like human guys having problems with going bald.

I'm honored that my characters are among your favorites.
Not being able to grow antlers would be an even greater hardship than losing hair considering that antlers are a defining symbol of male-hood. I imagine males in those situations would have prosthetic antlers.

I could also think of some of the funny TV channel gimmicks they would have on antler growing products they would have.

I have imagined the same thing. There would probably be all kinds of products that they would claim will make antlers grow larger.

I love the 'steampunk' feel this has to it. Or perhapse a victorian era touch?
[sighs and grins] How at times, I wish I could be as elegant as Kaneshia. But if I was to dress as such, I would be looked at as, "Somethings wrong. Kan's dressing formally. HIDE!! HIDE!!"
I am definitely a bib overalls, boots or military dress uniform doe. [giggles]

Thanks! I have always had a little of the Victorian era influence in my costume designs for the Cervidians. Kaneshia did not typically wear such elegant costumes when she lived in her home country of Ventallia. She can have her moments of elegance, but she never really fit in with the high society of the Great City of Chondy.
