Description This was totally random~

I was actually working on another drawing when it hit me. I put the prismas down to take a break, (wrist was spazzing... ) and I got up to inspect the fridge. I was munching on the subject matter of this pic when the wind caught my sketch pad, and threw a bunch of papers all over the floor. The drawing: "Uh... we get ourselves killed?" (in this gallery) flopped at my feet. I suddenly got this idea and had to put it on paper.

If you're not a native or familiar to Wisconsin, you probally won't get it.

Total time: About an hour (I think I'm getting faster) w/ PS 4... I needed a break from that other drawing anyways.

Isn't there something that uses Cheese Cruds and Chocolate to make a kind of Fudge?

You mean cheese curds...? LoL! You wouldn't want to eat anything made with cheese crud, up here in good 'ole frigid WI, the farmers spread cheese crud (aka "whey") on their fields for use as fertilizer... No sir! I won't eat that at all. I did however, munch me some yummy fried cheese curds for lunch today. mmMMmmmm....

Anywho, I'll quit giving you a hard time now and answer your question. To my knowledge, I've never had my cheese curds mixed with chocolate as a way of making fudge, though I do not doubt it can be done. There is in fact a cheese factory (I think it's called Mullin's) out towards Mosinee (if you're not from Wisconsin, I apologize in advance for using cities and terms you may not have ever heard of) or perhaps it's the Dupoint factory out by Marion who makes chocolate-flavored cheese... and dang is that some GOOD stuff. Very fattening. VERY expensive. A single 1lb block costs about $6.99 without the lovely sales tax added at the end. Oh, but every bite is worth its dollar... Dang it all... Now I want some! Thanks a lot~

Well, depends how you have it. Some are basically like...balls of cheese, haha. I always thought the white ones tasted like string cheese, only in a ball. And if they're fried, they're breaded and dipped in a deep fryer. Better than fried onions, french fries...ANYTHING if made right. IF put in too long...the cheese all oozes out and you get just bread. It sucks.

Never had a cheese curd in my life, but even moreso I can understand the picture (maybe not as intended, but in my own way) as that'd probably be my reaction if I was offered one >.<

Even moreso if I missread/heard like Tessa and think it's a cheese "crud"

But now I'm tempted to see if I can find any 'round abouts here, you'd figure there's gotta be somewhere. I like cheese...are they cheddary by any chance (looks to be orangish)?

When we used to come up here to visit from Texas, the first place my parents would stop at whilst we were in town as "Buddy's Restaraunt" to feed David and I fried cheese curds. Then, my Grandma (dad's side) would eventually pile all us kids in the car an stop in Mosinee to get some "squeaky" ones on our way to Noah's Ark (HUGE waterpark)

Considering how California is trying to be the new "dairy" state, I wouldn't doubt it. But then, I've never been to California, so I couldn't say.

Cheese curds can come in all sorts of ways. Most of the time they're white cheese curds, or they're yellow cheese curds. Some like them deep fried and served with ketchup or ranch, others prefer them to be "squeaky." When they are "squeaky," the cheese curds are fresh right out of the factory. When you eat them, they make squeaky noises against your teeth that nobody can hear but you. Or maybe that cat that's staring you down 'till you relent and drop him one on the floor.

Sometimes, they'll try and "flavor" a cheese curd, by adding things like dill 'n stuff too them. But plain is best. I like the the white cheese curds myself. I wouldn't say it's a "cheddery" flavor. It's just cheese. The only way you'll know, is to try one for yourself one day.

Ah yes, "good cheese comes from happy cows, happy cows come from California"
I love those commercials

I shall have to go on a crusade for a squeaky curd in that case!

Usually, when we get people from out of state and we offer them a cheese curd, their reaction is the same here as Shaz's. "You want me to eat a what?!" Usually even the name "cheese curd" sounds weird to them. So that's I said only Wisonsin people will get it. All of us have had the same reaction.

Cheese curds~ Nummy. And the best cheese curd is a squeaky cheese curd (squeaks when you eat it) that's when you know they're fresh... My cheese curds don't squeak anymore today. Bummage~

Squeaky cheese curd? *is getting rather curious* I can honestly say I've never had a cheese curd before. XD;; Squeaky cheese makes me worry somewhat though. xD;;

You haven't?! Awww... I'd send you some, but by the time they got there they won't be squeaky anymore. I'd doubt they'd even arrive as cheese... in fact, the word "Penicillin" suddenly comes to mind...

*plots a way to send the Sonniku a cheese curd*

It's cheese curd, cheese curd! Not cheese crud And yes, they're sorta like a little cheese ball, but not quite. Laughs, for your "educational" pleasure I tried googling how they are made, because I sorta know, but I didn' want to sound dump. Strangely, I found this clip about cheese curds from our local paper: [link]

Enjoy!

Thanks.

I wasn't too happy with how I colored him last time I did a "Shaz" pic, so I attempted a simpler way of shading. I tried learning how to do a SA-style Mobian but it was so complicated and they so many layers on the durn things. But I did apply the smaller strips of highlights, which I think helped to balance out his lights and darks.
