Description Here's my part of another art trade with Dinalfos5 [link] . It's a poster for another one of his stories. "Godzilla vs Biollante: The Children of Godzilla." I'm pretty pleased on how this one turned out. Enjoy.

Biollante is very neatly designed. I can barely draw Mechagodzilla (Showa).

Wow!
Biollante looks so awesome!!!
That rat-monster, was that the monster take was taken out of the orginal story? I forgot the name...

Did anyone know that Biollante is named after a figure in Norse mythology?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChaosGhidorah In reply to Guyverman [2007-05-18 11:45:46 +0000 UTC]

Yes, they said so in the movie at least. But I can't understand wich one they meant and I know quite some stuff about Norse mythology.

Guyverman In reply to ChaosGhidorah [2007-05-19 00:55:39 +0000 UTC]

I also heard on Stomp Tokyo reviews that it might actually be a mere Japanization of the english word "Violet".

ChaosGhidorah In reply to Guyverman [2007-05-19 11:15:51 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but in my copy of the film they say (acording to the subtitles at least) that it was a plant in Norse mythology with a human soul. The only problem is that I can't find any plant in the Norse mythology that actually fits that description.

Can you find info on "Biollante" in books about Norse Myths?

ChaosGhidorah In reply to Guyverman [2007-05-19 22:49:14 +0000 UTC]

As I said; "nothing fits the description." The closest thing would probably be the first humans who were made out of wood or the world tree Ygradsil. Who knows, they might just have made it up because it sounded cool.

wow! really great drawing of godzilla fighting biollante! i thinkit wasone of the better godzilla movies. the words the children of godzilla is kind of weird. i guess it goes along with biollante basicaly being a godzilla clone with a plant life mutantion mixed into it. one ouestion, what is the ceature at the bottom?

Well, this is a poster for a story written by one of Dinalfos5's [link] buddies. He asked me if I could draw a poster for the story were Godzilla fights Biollante and Deutalios (who also is created from G-Cells).

It's one of the best Godzilla movies from the Heisei era in my opinion, and the very first Godzilla film I ever saw.

Pretty cool when I was young I drew this really good idea for a movie. It had godzilla vs Gigan vs Mothra. It was nice I love the pic. But whats the rat thing ???

Sweet! Kind of like the original plan for the movie! I can't remember the rat's name, though. Does Dinalfos5 plan to give him a good part, or will he still become Godzilla-Chow?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Dinalfos5 In reply to Dragga [2006-10-09 01:32:57 +0000 UTC]

Well, to be honest, its not my story, its writen by my friend David. I just post it on Deviant art for him. I got to read a draft of the story, and tell him what I thought and recomend changes.
But to Answer your question, Deutalios was a rat-fish beast that was mutated with Godzilla cells as a bio-weapon to hold and spread a plauge and survive. He was released by a pharamcutical company as a bio-weapon so it could sell the antidote.
As for his role, he does fight Godzilla, and is more then just "Godzilla-chow", but he is still outmatched going up against Godzilla. He doesn't get eaten though. The story focuses more on Biollante, so beyond the one fight, Deutalios is more of just a plot device.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

ChaosGhidorah In reply to Dinalfos5 [2006-10-09 09:31:55 +0000 UTC]

Cool. It reminds me of the rats that carried the black plauge during the 14th century.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dinalfos5 In reply to ChaosGhidorah [2006-10-10 18:38:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but the whole plauge thing is a common theme with Deutalios. Every incarnation I've heard from him beyond the original has Deutalios carrying some form of disease in him. I guess when people think rat, they think disease, and its an easy way to make something otherwise weak like Deutalios dangerous.

ChaosGhidorah In reply to Dragga [2006-10-08 09:18:19 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, and his name is Deutalios. I don't have any idea what part he will play in the story, the only thing I know is that he, like Biollante, will be created from Godzilla's cells or something like that.

Oh, awsome, a very nice take on Biollante, she looks quite fearsome in this pic, her tendrils and vines are quite fearsome. And that's quite a fearsome interpretation of my description of Deutalios. Kind of large feet, but still very fearsome looking.
Anyway, great looking picture, thanks again.

Thanks. But did he really lose? Wasn't it more like a tie? Godzilla passed out because the anti nuclear energy bacteria started to kick in and Biollante died shortly after that.
