This is a very unique approach. I really like this design. I may even go as far as saying that it looks sub aquatic in a way.

I haven't taken the time I should have to comment on this.
I really, really love the hell out of this design. It really strives to make Megaguirus more than just a big dragonfly - she's officially a horrendous queen-like monstrosity. As Ren noted, the manta-ray-like wings are certainly different. It's kind of hard to imagine her wings buzzing, but it's just such a cool and organic design that it's hard to care about silly things like physics and biology.
MOAR.

So THAT'S why she's called MEGAguirus.

I REALLY need to take another run through with Megaguirus. My SD was alright but ultimately I failed at making any unique ground with her myself. Eventually I'll get around to more sketch studies we'll see about it then.
Megalon was also handled well by you. My major concerns with his original design was the awkwardness of the drills and his top heavy proportions. His head was absolutley enormous and the rest of him was rather wimpy looking. You kept all the major aspects of his design and just increased his girth and muscle mass. It effectively made him stable. I had a more bio-mechanical direction with mine but I didn't bother showing a full version of it.
As for real life insects...lol. Such features are ornamental at best on kaiju. It looks woefully out of place for a titanic creature to run around with spindly limbs if they aren't supported by a bloody AT field lol. Some things make sense, like having four wings for omnidirectional flight and hovering. Compound eyes, piston tissue, mandibles, abdomen thorax combos...these things all make sense. What doesn't make sense is the when all those things are stretched paper thin when we all know damn well it wouldn't hold up. Megalon has no business with most of those features anyway since 1, he's a chimeric cyborg, and 2, he' straight up hardcore Showa.

Very impressive take on Mgaguirus, she looks quite fearsome. Nice to see the jaws look more insect like. The Wings are interesting looking with that tattered effect on them, but they seem structured like no insect of this or any age.
Wait, how did the queen lay a colony, Before metamorphosis into it's adult stage? As far as I know, no insect is capable of laying eggs in Nymph stage.
In GxM, the colony predating the Megaguirus made sense, as the colony seemed to be the siblings of the current queen rather then her children, deposited in our time and dimension as one egg cluster by the previous unmutated queen.
I guess whatever Megaguirus is supposed to be is like no insect that truly exists, being unlike real dragonflies or Carboniferous Griffinflies, with such a different wing structure, vampiric stingers, additional pincers and social morphism, it makes for an interesting but completely fanciful insect even before size is added on.
