Description:
Goliath lyndwyrns, as their name suggests, are the largest species of lyndwyrm present on this planet. They grow up to 40 feet in length on average, although some older individuals have been found to max out at 55 feet. They're called the Golden lyndwyrm because of the yellow color of their scales which resembles the hue of gold. Being lyndwyrms they are excellent at burrowing and create the biggest tunnels, utilizing their muscular forelimbs tipped with large blunt claws. They're known for creating the biggest burrows out of any fossorial species on Terantrus. Their generalist apatite mainly consists of underground plants, minerals, and any other small animals that get unlucky enough to be caught in their jaws. Which are powerful enough to break down the toughest material, even bone and the rocks and minerals they eat. Naturally, their large size means that they have very few natural predators to worry about. Although they have been known to sometimes be hunted and killed by humans for their prised golden scales. This is a very dangerous task however, countless lives have been taken by these beasts simply be because a few people wanted to make a quick buck. In the case that a gold lyndwyrm is under cease, they'll utilize their long thin tails as a whip-like weapon to deter their attackers. Which with can a well-timed strike, can often leave those inflected with nasty injuries, and in sometimes it can be straight-up fatal. They also use their jaws to crush any that dare attack them.
