Hmmm? I have Photoshop CS, and I use the brush tool. Curves help me with my colour, but I play around with the layer modes a lot too, like "Multiply" or "Overlay". Variations and Photo Filters can help too, to get an overall colour setting.
But I'm always struggling with colourβI'm glad you like how it turned out.
