I still do it for effect on some shots. It's a good effect, but easy to overdo. I am guilty of that too.

Your exactly right... It is distracting to me beacause I see beauty and others say it looks a little fuzzy or blurry i can't tell... that means they are missing the beauty.... so i don't do it anymore... It forced me to shoot better.....

Well, she is stunning, and the photo is good. We do get better with DOF background isolation. Nothing like 30 or 50,000 frames a year to learn from.
