Like I said a while ago.In Okami comics, you can get away with lamely drawn backgrounds.
And let us just say that Oki and Waka and Ammy are on the Plains of Non-Existance.

Oki and Waka are relatively on good terms with each other.
Apart from competing for Ammy.
So, Oki, in Waka's mind frame, is a relatively trusted ally.
So that why they swapped "masks".
Mask for a mask.
Hat for a hat.
Hat for a mask.

Yes, Waka has conversations with himself.
Come on, you know it's awesome.
Admit it.
Now, what I don't understand is why everyone in the last comic was like "it's alive! D:"
Like, why the "D:"?

I love the hat~

Waka was lonely for 200 years because that's how long he had to wait before his ma cherie came back to life.

Changed the backgrounds in the last two frames.
The last ones really bugged me.
A LOT.
Mental Note to Self: You can only get away with lamely drawn backgrounds in Okami if you use authentic colours.

Waka, though he spontaenously fights you at random intervals, turns out to be good at the end--and quite awesome.
And judging that you do not know who Oki is, I'm assuming you haven't gotten to Kamui yet.
Oki, is a resident in Kamui, and the first one you see.
You think he's evil at first, but you find out that he mistook you for a monster. Whoops.
Oki is also part of a tribe called the Oina, which is based on Japanese Ainu, and in the game, they have one reoccuring characteristic: they all can transform into and from wolves, and wear these weird looking masks.
I found out from my sister yesterday that Oki's mask is suppostedly a wolf, while another Oina-ian, Kai, has a deer mask.
And the list continues.
Though Oki does not have as much screentime in the game, and does not have as big a role as Waka, many people like Oki much better than Waka, and also prefer to pair him up with Amaterasu.
So, no, Oki is not a bad guy, only a bit of an idiot for a while.

So, she was probably a kindly old lady.
But when she died, she became reborn via Sakuya, and become the wonderful spazz we all know and wuv.

I thought Waka, Ammy, Issun, or anyone would notice the Bird Mask-Hat thing's movements in the previous comics(Besides Ammy's Divine Bra, Waka's issues with Ammy's rage, ect). Most Characters would have their personal things doing expression faces, but this is just awkward that they didn't realize it until now...
