Description
This beast is a Phyllorhiza punctata, commonly known as an Australian Spotted Jellyfish or a White Spotted Jellyfish. It is native to the Pacific Ocean between Australia and Japan, but has been introduced widely throughout the ocean world. They have a mild venom and a mild or non-noticeable sting and are not considered a threat to humans. A single jellyfish can filter 13,000 gallons (50,000 liters) of seawater a day.
