Description
The Serpent King lived in isolation
amidst a vast sea that many wayfarers sought
for in that sea was treasure, an entire nation
of gold and jewels from merfolk no human hand had bought.His den was at the center, he alone for days
all others of the sea and land feared his might
yet gentle was the Sea King in his ways
to shipwrecks and the lost he heeded their plight.Until one day vikings, their proud ships did soar
straight for the Serpent King's lair at the heart of the sea
and their swords they did brandish, his head the score
but only an arm did they manage to take and flee.Since that time the Serpent King has ceased
his kindness to the shipwrecked beings lost
for he learned a hard lesson, at least
that mortals care not for others' cost.Until a brave soul, lost and free,
to his den washes up from the sea.
And his indifference was swallowed
by the sweet girl who at his heels followed.

New oc that (accidentally) happened because I needed a break from the larger piece I'm working on. Not 100% with his story, but I wanted to paint his human form and get a feel for his design. He's a Sea Serpent who lives in (you guessed it) the sea! I imagine that he's feared by humans and merpeople alike, so he just lives alone in his den in one of the most dangerous rocky caverns around hiding from the world like most of his kind. Then a little human girl washes up in his cave and BAM, he's suddenly a papa. xD
Haha might change that, but it seems like a fun dynamic.

Also, #Novemboy2018 because he technically fits the "head vs heart" theme. He logically knows that humans took his arm and that they are not to be trusted in the end, but he grows very attached to the little girl and can't just let her die.
That or he's the "dragon" theme.
