Kind of remind me with the shogun's youngster military unit the "byakkotai" during the boshin war. Almost all of it's members commit seppuku after they realize the aizu castle was fall to the kangun forces. But unfortunately, the castle at that time still not yet fallen but still defended by the koyochinbutai (shinsengumi) forces lead by saitou hajime. Poor them although they showed a great loyalty feat.

Most people have that issue, maybe you should try sketching people you see walking around or take a figure drawing class? There are also some helpful references here on deviantart that might help
