Description
Sabo is the Revolutionary Army Chief of Staff and the sworn brother of Ace and Luffy, whom he lived with at Dadan' s hideout after defecting from the Goa kingdom and his status as a noble. He set out to sea at 17 to be a pirate, but his ship was blown up by a visiting Celestial Dragon. He was presumed dead, but really was saved by Luffy's father Dragon and so joined the Revolutionary Army. He lost all memories of his life before the accident, only to regain them after learning what happened to Ace at Marineford - an event so traumatic for him that he landed in a 3 day coma. He later reunited with Luffy in Dressrosa and even took his place in the Corrida Colosseum tournament under the alias Lucy to compete for Ace's devil fruit, which he won, making him the new wielder of the Flame-Flame fruit and symbolically inheriting Ace's mantle as Luffy's watchful protector whenever the need arises. His character design is inspired by the Artful Dodger from Charles Dickens' book Oliver Twist.
