Description
This may or may not become a series, depending on my stress levels and available time.
Some of the creatures of the fictional "slushball moon" Itrillis. Their species do not have names and they were originally based on doodles I made during lecture but I like them nonetheless.
The first one is a very widespread clade with species living both in shallow water and the depths. They appear at first glance very similar to the clams on Earth but upon closer inspection share a closer lifestyle to echiderms, slowly moving across the seabottom taking in any food they may find.
The second one is also a species of the shallows. It's not particularily closely related to the "fish" of itrillis, being more akin to...well, some kind of a mixture between free-swimming sea slugs, flatworms and fish. Long story short it has no spine and is almost entirely comprised of tasty muscle.
The third one is a pelagic hunter, exhibiting the four-limbed bodyplan typical of the "fish" of Itrillis. This one's strategy involves cruising around the ocean, occasionally exhibiting bursts of speed to catch hapless animals on its' harpoon-like "arms". Luckily they don't grow longer than 10 centimeters.
