For the sake of proving to myself I understood tiles enough to do so, I have duplicated this fractal of your rather precisely. The one thing I cannot figure out is how you did such an awesome job with the colors.

I used the calculate colors option under the flame menu option. it will evenly distribute the gradient colors thru the transforms you have. then all you have to do is adjust the color option slider on the transform itself to tweek the colors.

This is by far one of my favorite fractals. I wish I understood the mathmatics behind apophysis enough to even begin making flames like this.

This one is great. Incredibly clean.. I really like how the addition of the borders final didn't mess with the details too much... which is a problem I have with it.
