Description 30min. spitpaint I wanted to do something, like... I had this idea of ruins with the skeletal remains of long-lost warriors strewn about. Β Granted it's a 30min. spitpaint so time wasn't a large luxury, but then I thought how interesting it might be if the lingering spirit of a soldier was tethered permanently there to its material corpse, unable to move. Β Then I could iterate upon that and show areas of the ruins where the fighting was most intense, little specs, motes of energy that would forever remind the future of their past sacrifices.

This is incredible~
I love the background <3
How did you make it look so pretty in only 3o minutes??

Thank you very much Β A lot of my spitpaints, especially earlier pieces, are on-the-fly trial and error, like I'll take brushes and scale them up really high and see how the pattern comes out, sometimes if it looks good/interesting/useful I'll drop that as a background and start doing some erasing/editing. Β I discovered this weird rectangular spray-ish brush that had a funky effect when coupled with the Smudge tool, so I mixed in that with erasing chunks of the background, copied that and did a paste-into to create a new, masked layer over the background forms and then smudged more, then played with blending modes

It really is chaos that comes tumbling to a standstill at the end of 30 minutes, I'm very rarely so organized and focused that I just execute lol. Β Lots of 'feeling around' the piece in the first few minutes.

It's so beautiful even though it's scene that's left after a war.
