Day 5 - Assignment 6 - Should’ve Been a Cowboy…

Gathering cattle? Well this was the easiest thing that Aoide and Switch had done so far. Aoide had been working with cows since before she was 12, helping her family take cattle to the market. Switch had been trained on the cattle trail and she knew how to cut off cattle and herd them back better than Aoide did. So even with broken ribs, it was little effort for the woman to track down stragglers and herd them back, using her rope to smack the cows and steers on the rump to send them along.

A day in the park for this seasoned Cattle hand. Every summer the Castillo family travel from Wyoming to the Lazy Y Ranch in Colorado and help them herd their cattle to market, and they always return to Ever Knight with a hundred head or so as payment.
