Yes, indeed, the loose style one with a greenish background. I'll have to paint him again soon, he's grown loads. And soon his half-sister will come live with us, too. ^_^

Nugget, yeah? Sooo cute. I'm so excited for you that you'll have two running around!

BTW, totally unrelated but I like your seal (in your icon too) -- where did it come from?

Thanks, I’m excited too! Nugget got to meet her last weekend, I think they’ll be great for each other.

I’m glad you like my seal! It has a bit of a story behind it.. I went down to Hamburg a couple of days, quite a few years ago, and there was this "Asian exhibition" on.. I love most things Japanese, so obviously I had to go. I met a dear old Japanese man there, who (together with his wife) designed and made seals, and I’ve always wished I had one. So after a bit of brainstorming we came up with that design. Phonetically it’s pronounced MI-CU which consists of parts of my name (Camilla Malcus).. (Which is also the name that I planned to use as my company name.) I’ve not mastered the stamping technique though, so I mostly add it digitally to my work, not directly onto the originals. It takes a bit of finesse to get it perfect.

Fabulous! I'm actually in Japan right now!

I have a seal for official documents that's just the boring phonetic reading of my name. But I want to make another seal soon using the kanji for my name by meaning (not sound). My name is Ariella and it's made up of Hebrew words for lion and god, so kanji name is 獅子神 (ししがみ)(shishigami) (lion god) hehe. I want to make a seal just of these two 獅神 -- the meaning will still be readable and it fits better in a square than three characters. I haven't gotten around to making a real one in stone so I'll probably make a digital one at first and apply it in post like you do ; )

Oh, that's wonderful! Do you study/ work there? I'm very impressed with you knowing Japanese.. I'm planning to take a beginner's language course, but I have a feeling it's going to be a huge challenge. My plan is to visit Japan sometime within the next five years. :)
(You've got a really lovely name, btw. ^_^ )

I worked in Japan for four years! I'm back now working temporarily for just a month. I actually go back to America this Sunday.

Learning Japanese was hard! School is definitely the best place to learn grammar and how to write. Learning how to speak (and hear) requires spending some time here -- at least several months in my opinion. I think the best way is to take classes first to learn all the rules, then come here to practice applying them.

Thanks for complimenting my name! Is your name Camilla?

By the way, thank you for watching me too! I am honored! >..<
Your paintings are so amazing

That sounds really interesting! I bet it's difficult to learn the language, and I can imagine it being hard to get around there as well, without knowing some basic Japanese and be able to read street signs etc. (I hope I will get a good teacher..)

Yes indeed, my name is Camilla, but my friends just call me Cami. Nice to meet you.  ^_^
It's my pleasure with the watch!

Have a safe flight on Sunday.

Back in America now!

Yeah it's definitely not the easiest language to learn -- unless you already know a similar language like Korean.

You shouldn't be worried about visiting Japan before you learn Japanese. Street signs aren't very important since most streets in Japan don't have names. It's easy to get around nowadays using GPS on your phone. It will be difficult to communicate, and you might get lost or confused a lot, but it's not such a big deal since Japan is so, so safe. If you're the kind of person who panics easily and wants everything to go according to plan, you might get worried/frustrated, but if you don't mind exploring without strict expectations and going with the flow, you'll be completely fine!

Glad to hear you're back safely!

"Going with the flow" sounds like my sort of thing, so.. yes, it would be really nice to go there, it's been a life-long dream of mine. Have you ever visited those little tea gardens in the countryside?

ah sorry for the late reply. hmmm i'm not sure what exactly your mean by tea garden -- i've definitely been to Japanese gardens that have tea houses! I love the atmosphere at those -- I feel so peaceful just thinking about it!! btw maybe we should switch to Notes? Feel free to reply via Note ^_^
