Description Upon completion of the famous Panama Canal, San Francisco hosted the 1915 World's Fair here at this palace constructed by architectural legend Bernard Maybeck.  It was my privilege to witness the opening ceremony on Saturday Morning, February 21, 100 years after the original fair straight down to the day.

100 years later, and it's as breathtaking as ever.

Is this the place featured in the film "Time After Time"?

That it is!  It's also been seen in two cult classics: The Rock (Michael Bay's…uh…"best" film) and The Room (critics hate it, some fans weirdly love it ).

I've seen "The Rock", and I probably noticed it. But, it's been so long since I've watched it. Now, "Time After Time" is one of my "century films", ones I've seen at least 100 times. I fell in love with the movie, the soundtrack (which I wish I had!), and the novel by Karl Alexander.

I'm not sure I've seen "The Room". The title doesn't "ring a bell". I'll have to look into it.
