bouquet of sunflowers, oil on canvas, 60x80 cm, july 2013This was of course inspired by Claude Monets famous painting .
I planted and grew sunflowers in my garden for this. I used them as reference for the preliminary sketch and then continued from memory, as I forgot to take photos.
The background and the jug are done with palette knives, the flowers with brushes.
I painted this before, you can see the improvement here:
And yes, sunflowers are my favorite flowers by far.
