Angle of the sun. Perhaps too much ND up top. I can boost the top up a bit, or take the foreground down a stop, or so.

Yeap, I would do that. Because right now the lighting does seem unnatural. The composition is excellent, though.

I actually really like the lighting. I think its what makes this piece even more unusual and illustrative than a pure landscape Double lightsources may be a bit 'studio' to a traditionalist, but to me are so much more innovative and interesting than the singular natural back-light you might logically expect here. It's his voice/vision that makes this photographer more subjectively interesting than say, that one who photographed the exact same spot in a different way.

Well you sure have a point about all of them looking the same after a while. Among the top nature photographers, I'd have a hard time telling which shot came from which guy. They have approached perfection close enough.

That said, I enjoy your landscapes a lot too and defer to your obviously superior photographic skill. However, I don't think it's a flaw to have this sort of lighting. Or maybe I just love it :3 It just feels very deliberate to me!
