This is awesome! Must look amazing in a blacklight version. What was the general idea behind it? Corona's something to do with solar energy, right? Is this derived from something Aztec-y or just a sweet flaming phoenix griffin straight from the mind of Ame? xD
Either way, I really like it. Has a very austere, mythological feel to it. Love the blurred boundary between feather and flame from the colour palette.

Yep, a corona is a sun's superheated atmosphere. I just named it that because of the whole whispy fire aesthetic, no real reason behind it. Just a fiery phoenix for fun! Alliteration!

Thank you! Blacklight version is coming more slowly than I thought, mostly because I have to wait until nightfall and the bulb heats up if I paint for too long.
