I wanted something UNIQUE for my senior prom. I liked skittles...I made my dress using fabric, skittles wrappers, ribbon, and duct tape trim.
I used the above to cover a clip on tie for him, my date.
I love it.

Thanks!! Uhhh, well it took me about 3 months to order and get all the skittles and wrappers. then i wanna say maybe 2 weeks to put together? i still have it and will never get rid of it, but i can never wear it again.

Thanks =] I actually got the idea from YOU! I didnt know you had a deviant art though! I wanted to do something other than duct tape or gum, and i love love love sour skittles (not as much anymore! lol)
and i was like hmmmm, i wonder if it can be done, so i googled candy dress. and well obviously, it can be! so i went for it.
I went the easy way, getting a similar colored fabric, making a pattern using the fabric, and sort of quilting the wrappers on it.
How did you do yours if you dont mind me asking?

Hah i figured, Its spiffy though, and Its cool to see someone who was inspired and made their own unique piece rather than rehashing my dress. (i'm seeing alot of that :/)
Its been a long time since I've had sour skittles, i feel like i probably don't like them though...I tried skittles fizzles (only avalible in truckstop vending machines) and they were, I daresay, the worst candy ever.
I sewed all the wrappers together so its all plastic, but then for safetys sake made a cotton slip. c:
And i would kill a man for those shoes, theyre amazing.

ahh plastic against skinnn!!! good idea on the slip lol. I had some seams that pulled the wrappers inside and it itched and stabbed me all night. that and it was really stiff, ive been plotting new ways to do it and have it more flexible.... def no skittles though... i dont think i could eat another one!
Haha! everyone loves the shoes ♥ and so do i. Oh the joys of internet shopping! i found them and bought the last pair in my size, just in time and the colors went perfect!!
