This is adorable! I love the little blotches of white space in the feathers. It kind of looks like you had to 'draw' the feathers with the color to get that effect. I've never seen that done before, if that's how you've achieved it! Your use of color here makes me hungry for tropical fruit. X3

Quite hard to say.
Penguins, budgies, pionuses, macaws, cockatiels are all way up there.

Six chickens, as a matter of fact. Not quite the same as parrots, but fun in their own way. Mobile fluffy heaters, big soft feathery birds you can dig your face into, ambient noisemakers, egglayers...
And when I was young my sister had a blue-headed pionus. He was a nice little bird.
Oh, and my brother around then had a cockatiel too. Those are so cute and fluffy.

What breed? I used to have silkies, but a raccoon got the two of them.
Yes they are. My best friend was a tiel.

Barnevelder, Welsummer, Cuckoo Maran, Easter Egger, Speckled Sussex and Dorking. I can dig up some pictures if you'd like.

Ooh, that's quite a nice assortment. From the breeds, can I assume they were primarily kept for eggs (and pets, of course)?
Sure, pictures would be nice

I especially like looking at the middle one. In the sun, all iridescent...
So pretty.
