I just have to say that I love this so far, dear!
What I would suggest doing is making the star blend a little better into the snow and give it a shadow. If it is floating, don't worry so much about blending it into the snow, but a shadow should make it look perfect no matter what. Just make sure that the color you use for the shadow doesn't have a gray hue because the background is so colorful; it should be more of a dark blue/teal. ^^
&&Try adding some more highlights, but don't over do it. Just draw a few lines, defining where you think the light would hit the bear(mostly on his face and a little on his paws) and smudge them a little or just lower the opacity of that layer to a point where it looks realistic. Highlights always seems to make my subjects blend better into their surroundings.
&&The snow looks perfect!! So other than those few things, you have a great manipulation here!

So sorry for the late response...I've been meaning to upload the edited version for days. RL horses are keeping me busy! 
Oh, and the star isn't supposed to be in the snow, its floating which is why its not really blended. I tried to do something about the awkward positioning of the paws, but perhaps its not too noticeable since you didn't mention it? The original photo was like that. Thanks again love!

&&I looked at the original photo of the bear, but his paws in this manip. aren't that awkward. They look fine to me! It actually looks like it is inside the ice he is standing on! Hahaha.
