she plays on, competing
with the coming storm,
offering her song to the gods.

I love the completely captivating atmosphere of this piece, the fierceness she should have been playing with to make her hands bleed like that and her determination to still continue... Hysterical, but in a very good way!!!

The implication toward addiction is strong here. Though her fingers bleed, she doth not cease to feed her longing for perfect harmony with the rising wind.

This piece is so mysterious and "quiet before the storm"feeling in it. I love it, the sky, the wheat and the sense of wind, and the poppies bringing out the blood on her fingers and arm.
