Description Submitted late, since I couldn't think of a right title for this piece It was done for ImagineFX Issue 78:
[link]

The point was to create an Art Nouveau/Alphonse Mucha stylization but with a modern twist. The task proved much harder than I initially thought... Also, as I don't usually work with line art, inking was a killer.

Video + workshop are inside the mag.

I'm a big fan of Mucha stylizations and this totally nails that, the use of varied line thicknesses provides great depth indication. Β It's easy to see why you are a professional! Β Great work!

I'm very impressed with the way that Art Nouveau and your usual style come together in this piece. The touches of nature and the outlining embody the spirit of Art Nouveau while your talent with faces and cloth add depth with an original twist. I know that some find that combination a bit jarring, but for myself I like the contrast - it reminds me metaphorically of the Escher pieces where a sketch gradually becomes a seemingly three dimensional image lifting from the page.

I think this is my first "bad" critique, please do not take it with angriness, I'm just trying to be helpful.
Before anything let me tell you that You are a very talented artist with a strong ability to do realistic work... but in this particular occasion I thing a less realistic one could work better. I mean This kind of pictures use to be done with more or less plain tints, as you've done in all the picture... with the exception of the face which is much more realistic and 3dlike. I think this contrast do not work completely. I'm not sure if the solution could be do it more plain or to work with a better transition face-hair, face.-neck... However it could be improved in this area.
Despite it, It's a good work.

excellent..except for the odd hairpiece..curious mouth..and not quite drawn right shoulder..dear marta is not pretending to be a super realistic ..

This reminds me of a more classy version of the game borderlands x) I think sits the black lines over the shading. Still, wonderful work!

The style is so different from the other artworks in your gallery, but no less beautiful. It is very Art Nouveau-like, and I can imagine it was quite a piece of work. It turned out wonderful though, so the trouble with inking was definitely worth it in my opinion

I love everything about this piece! Except her face. Not that it is not well done, but I don't find it pretty XD But it is just my opinion.

Skulls and roses huh? and a tattoo?? I guess that's the modern twist. Oh, and I love the tones and hues too. The flowers are gorgeous and so are the drapings.
