Description you'd think i'm amused by tiny winged people interacting with human-sized things or something also, yes i spend too much free time contemplating things like faerie clothing because DARNIT, no one else seems to acknowledge how a creature with BIGASS WINGS gets elaborate shirts and vests on and it CHEESES ME OFF.

the top-left pic is pulled from ~WedgeFactor 's fic ( [link] ). though not perfectly because i was too busy SQUEEING to retain details, so i'm pretty sure al wasn't actually IN a hammock. also they're supposed to be ~13 physically but since my of 19-year-olds look 15 already, 13 becomes 8

anthro-prussia is sort of an inside joke. mostly with myself. >_>

the level of grumpy!arthur + mediator!matthew in this sketch series is dangerously low. this needs to be rectified. /glares at self/

APH and HP (ha ha ha, the fck do these doodles have to do with either of those anymore, srsly) not mine and such

random thoughts about faerie things:

- effing faerie clothes HOW DO THEY WORK? well, i'd image all are either pulled partway over the head and then tied/buttoned/laced/eyehooked under the wings, or stepped into and then fastened behind the neck (unless it has straps or is a severe scoop-back, i suppose). girls can do tube-tops too, if their tits are up to the job XD

- regarding wings, i like to stick them right on either side of the spine, inside the shoulder blades. they probably have their own set of muscles that fit in BECAUSE MAGIC.

- also, my wings open/close like a book AND can collapse fan-like to a certain extent. because seriously they get in the way ALL THE TIME.

- using real physics, faerie wings should be massively huge to support the body weight of a tiny humanoid. but i hold that the mere presence of wings allows them to hover. sort of like in peter pan... it's the magic that makes them airborne; the wings just provide maneuverability and extra speed.

- in my world, faeries can very androgynous. because... faeries, man. lithe, pretty little things. their manner of dress doesn't help either: in hot places, they're all in tanks, shorts, and cropped hair cuz it's HOT. in cold places, long hair and all bundled up. there's no particular social trend for girls or boys to have one sort of hair cut or the other beyond 'what's the weather like?' or 'what's my personal preference?'. also, skirts are just a terrible idea for flying creatures. the amount of upskirt is ridiculous and all that flapping fabric would drag you down anyway. so pants all around! and how the hell do you get a supportive bra on with wings in the way? you don't; you adapt to have smaller breasts. so boys look like girls due to extreme prettiness, and girls look like boys due to being not very curvy XD

Tl;DR: very limited sexual dimorphism.

Thank you so much for doing the fairy clothing thing. It always weird when the fairy's clothes go under their wings. Also I loved what you did with the fairies, and how you said that the fairies can be androgynous... I am so close to writing a fanficton for this it's not even funny... But thank you so very much for doing this.

Ahaha thanks. I go nuts trying to figure out how winged characters wear certain things. And if you ever do write a fic, please let me know! I'd love to see

Ummm... Fair warning... if I do write a fanfiction I think I might... change the species of fairy that Matt and Alf are... Of course if you don't want me to I wont. It is your idea after all, and I do have some ideas of my own, but what I need is a plot tying them all together...

Well you could always just do your own version of this 'verse and just say it was ~inspired~ by mine, instead of directly related. That way you have free reign to do whatever you want I mean, I hardly hold a patent on APH/HP crossovers, or fairy AUs

That's true. I just didn't want to insult you because I changed something. I really don't like making people mad...

Nah I totally understand. I'm neck-deep in Kingdom Hearts fandom in the moment and am juggling 6 or 7 silly AUs, many of which are intentionally meant to be parodies of various tropes and overused cliches. But I'm still constantly paranoid someone will come along and be upset with me for "stealing" their ideas >A>

Hey, I hate to be imprudent, but is there a story to go along with this? If there is... *Blushes* could you please send me a link?

oh gosh, it's not imprudent at all! i can never keep track of which sketchdumps for this series i dropped link fics in... anyway, there's a story being written by ~WedgeFactor right here on ff.net: [link]

i hope it blows your mind even half as much as it blew mine!

*just being plain annoying here!*
There's a thing I've been thinking about... I assume that the hammock thing (which is adorable) is around the age where they 'met' and thus at about the start of the nearly-century-long-mateship between them (this is why my English notes are bad)
And since I am a horrible person I have a hard time guessing their physical ages in the present. Soooo....
How fast do you think their species of faeries age?

hmm, i guess i never really did the math on it, but considering al is like 90 years older then matt but they're physically nearly the same age, i'd say verrrrrry slowly

any you're not being annoying at all; i love that people are interested in this

I love your Faerie!Matthew, he's really is aborable! Though when I think of him, I kinda pictured him to have maple leaf shaped wings

Dakt37 In reply to PandaGirl94 [2011-06-08 04:23:11 +0000 UTC]

thank you! funny thing; when i went through my first faerie!matt phase--which was unrelated to HP--his wings WERE more spiky and leaf-shaped. but i guess i got tired of drawing them that way or something XD or just thought looking like a butterfly was better camouflage. i can't really remember.

I'm really not very into crossovers as a rule, but I find myself loving these sketches.

Would...would you mind if I wrote something in this universe...? I'm not guaranteeing that it'll actually be good (or even posted) or anything, but...I can't get it out of my system, I was doodling faeries in math today instead of taking notes...

I like how much thought you put into this. Very structured.

Soon here you'll be doing. . .GASP!. . .your own stories, full of original characters!

Or I hope so, anyway. You'd probably dominate at it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dakt37 In reply to DragonsLover1 [2010-10-29 07:22:35 +0000 UTC]

thank you! i have a fascinating capacity for overthinking inconsequential things like this |D but don't hold your breath for anything truly original. that takes a level of effort i'm not interesting in investing. also it would require an actual main plot i just like very short, random scenes. my favorite parts of the HP books are the "random trucking through school" bits in the middle. but luckily this time i managed to acquire a truly fantastic writer who's creating a main plot, a world, and all sorts of AWESOME sideplots all on her own. because she just WANTS to . it's like baked myself a half-underdone cake and found in the icing container a ticket for a two-week stay at a disney world resort. I WASN'T EVEN LOOKING FOR IT BUT HNNNNNG SO GOOD.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DragonsLover1 In reply to Dakt37 [2010-10-29 19:01:50 +0000 UTC]

Nothing is inconsequential. Nothing.

That's true. Original stories, or even original CHARACTERS, require a lot of forethought and work. A hell of a lot. Which is why I guess so many authors/artists/actors get so much love for nailing it.

Aww, you lucky little whore. No offense, just. . .wow. So many people love you like that. Makes me jealous no one randomly spurs themselves into doing such great things for me.

That analogy is the best ever. . .and not just because it reminds me of the SNAFU half-baked cake and tickles my Disney fancy.
