I used to read Bone when I was younger! It was one of the first graphic novels I ever got into. It's very near and dear to my heart.

Nice work. Also i agree on that green and blue costume. Somehow it just doesn't looks right. It seems like Joe MAD couldn't decide what ever it should be more of a street outfit or actual costume, since it's very simple (tank top, pants, boots) but still has the material and bright colors of a super hero/villain outfit.

Marrow's always been one of my favorite X-Men characters. It's sad they could never really write her very well. But, yeah, I'm in the same boat. Read X-Men in the 90's then stopped when I realized nothing would ever be wrapped up. It was just a mess. Liked the characters but it was just a mess.

She totally deserves her own spin off.

Marrow definitely benefits from the Faith treatment. She looks like she can kick your ass, but also cute, which I love. I would totally dig that comic if you were ever able to make it. I also shy away from the never ending story comics. I do not like that feeling of knowing there really is no light at the end of the tunnel, and someone will always be in peril all the time. Not satisfying at all. That's why I love your stories. They are beautifully told.

I like Marrow. Probably my second-favorite X-Man after Feral (also a Morlock escapee).
This is gorgeous, boss.

I'd love to read a Marrow comic by you! Marrow was a character with a lot of possibility and interesting conflict, at least until Marvel used alien technology to magically make her pretty. I'm still bitter about that.

Yeah, I heard about that. Pretty dumb.

It's not a story if it doesn't have a beginning, middle and an end. It's a gigantic advertisement. And strangely I think I recall this character- and abandoned mainstream books about the same time you did.

Is it awful that I want this Marrow comic, now?
GAWD.
Can you imagine sanctified fan-comics? I WOULD WANT THIS IF THAT COULD HAPPEN.
I want it anyway, who am I kidding?

The great use of varying line weight was what got me, then the great use of such an earth-toney palette only gives Marrow that sorta "one with her surroundings" type feel. And man, your style has only gotten better since I first found "Zombies Calling".
I would buy the fuck of out this print if it were available.

Wonderful idea! I, too, could never really dig superhero comics - I was pretty aware of the contrived gender stuff at play, even back then - and you make a good point about the beginning/middle/end. Seriously, that just struck with me. I can't articulate what it is, but unless you get really drawn in by a character (which I didn't), you are faced with just a endlesssss series of plots that are kind of made pointless by the lack of overall structure/end (lulllz, like life, mabbe? The predictability of mortality shakes things up. Immortal folks in shows/books seem to be preeeetty damn bored 90% of the time - if not boring themselves, in the case of some).
I heart this cover liek whoah, because it is also an example of sp comics need more of if they don't want to offend ladywallets of the future: dramatic covers that don't rely on cheesecake. Serrriously man. As another commenter said above, if I saw this, I would definitely buy the first issue - DC should take notes!
Slightly OT: I totally forgot about the Marrow character (I knew her vaguely from the Wolverine cartoon, but that was uh...a while ago /feelsoold) - and I thought this might be for a zombie comic! "Marrow" would be such a kickass name for a zombie comic too, so I may be nicking that for the future XD!

Interesting premise, I always enjoy it when someone takes an obscure charcater and runs with it to make something special. The cover hints at an intreguing story in itself, the careful composition garnering the charcater some empathy. I particularly like the urban survivor image they have, a nice compromise between real world fashions and a recognisable super hero outfit.
I would pick up the first issue at least.
