“It was quite a silent morning, and it was odd, considering the time of the day. It was like the whole forest was waiting for something, and in a certain way, this was true: if you were there, you could have sensed it too, the feeling of something going to happen, that strange sensation of something holding you inside, right before the thunder. It would have been hard for you to spot, so I’m here to point it out: there was that single leaf hanging there, a red blush surrounded by green sisters. It was so quite even the wind was still, but with no sound, in the end, it blew a single whistle. Can you see it, the calm leaf falling down, dancing back and forth? As it touched the ground, that’s when the magic happened: it was barely able to lie down before being pulled up again, not by the air, but by the thing that was rising from the earth itself. The red wolf, guardian of Autumn, was awaken again for the season, ready to protect the Forest in the vulnerable moment of falling asleep…”

A spirit wolf, protector of the forest; he watches over the woods while other animals fall asleep and guards the trees in their time of rest, waiting for Winter to come.
