He he - thanks! And yes, very much so. Echelion, Lord of the Fountain, slew Gothmog in his own ruin, with the point on his helm, then they both fell limp into the fountain inside Gondolin's walls. He is a ghost if you look closely, in the image, standing vigilant over his foe

It's a Balrog, but not that one...This is Gothmog, Lord of the Balrogs - He lived in the First Age - LOTR takes place in the 3rd - [link]

Hey thanks mate - I didn't know there was one. I've been a huge Tolkien for well...longer than DA has been around, but I'm still a newbie here at DA sepite my years of membership. I'll have to figure out where to join it.

The colours on that one were digital. I will have to dig it up. You can see the colour version (small) at [link] - got to the LORE section and then "general index" and under "Maiar" - Gothmog.

Thanks It looks better larger - I am working on revising the site to accomodate larger images.

It was done in Photoshop CS2.
