Description Pet your invisible twig-like fingers
Within the depths of your darkened blackness
Twisting like curdled milk, it still lingers
Much like an out of tune piano stress.

This ev'ning, I count fingers in the dark,
While they sing their silent falsetto tune,
Their falsetto tune so like the skylark,
They sing their falsetto tune to the moon.

Within my trap, fingers I do ensnare
But to me they are silent, taciturn.
I am cloaked within this stygian air
I cannot hear those fingers I so yearn.

Take me away in this black gravity
I don't have the coin to cross the ferry.

Possibly.
However, it could also mean a wish for death that would not come, which would be understandable since this is also dedicated to Ludwig Van Beethoven.
