Sorry Glyde...But anyway, this is for 's contest to design Narok and Rikota, dual swords that can joing at the hils to form a staff of sorts. Narok, made from Kirin stuff is lightning elemented and with a sharp, thin bladed edge, is more suited to slashing while Rikota, made from Akantor stuff is dragon elemented and it's more bulky base and blade with a sharp tip make it more suited for stabbing.
I also included some sketches of how i thought they could fit together and how the gear shaped pommel locks and releases with the teeth acting like pegs when the dual blades come together and form a staff.

I dunno, seeing as the Hunter primarily featured in concepts wields a weapon that is very similar to this, maybe it'll be something both could use!!

Well, an akantor weapon for felynes already exists in the form of a miniature akantor greatsword, maybe if they bought Kirin back in future games, a kirin sword for them could exist too

In many of the MH artbooks and encyclopedias, they feature a hunter in cassic Hunter's Mail wielding a double bladed weapon like these. But I don't think they split into twin blades.
