(...do these even count as sketches? I mean,they're traditional but colored...Im' not sure what to call them,lol.)

Rarepon name: Irukarara (Iruka: "dolphin")
Type name: Kaepon (Kae: "return")
Class(rarepon+type) name: Irukaerang

2 upper rows: "normal" Mater Irukas
last row: "born" Irukas

The same from before [link] dis time I drew all them variations (except the obvious ones :U) Also made some weapon concepts.
Looks all shitty and stuff cuz it's traditional.Markers+pencils≠vectors xD

Yeep.As you probably noticed,"purebred" Irukarara have a lil' bit of trouble moving about on land with those tails (orly).They became that way because they washed up in a deserted island (literally),where about all obtainable food is either underwater or flying above it (seabirds),and which floods often,drowning both them and any crops they plant with saltwater.But instead of resigning to die,this one group chose to follow the Almighty's example and actually work to their survival.With the Kraken still around though,most ships they build go down in no time,so they instead decided to take swimming lessons from local fauna
They're pretty much amphibian,though still appreciate the 'land' part of it,and have built a little village on the island (they like their bed warm and dry like everyone else thankyouverymuch).With their powerful tails and armfins,they easily outmaneuver the Kraken and escape it,even if they don't have the energy yet to cross the entire ocean by themselves.This comes at the cost of walking speed and agility on land though,having to drag around said heavy tails.However,the Irukarara created by Mater have no need to outswim a Kraken,being created for normal,land-based warfare by the opportune Kami.Thus,they lack armfins,and their tails are much shorter and stubbier (if not absent entirely),not getting in their way during battle and giving them all the speed and mobility of normal patapon.They're still good swimmers,but are land-bound and unable to out-swim a "wild" Irukarara,or the Kraken for that matter.
They still keep praying for the Almighty to find them and take them back home,or to some day build a perfect ship with which they could take on and defeat the Kraken,so they could finally sail back home with said ship being their resting place.

They're an open species,so if you wanna make a Irukarara/Kaepon/Irukaerang character you can,just link me to the result :3
