Update: Sebastian, December 2000 - 2012. Rest in peace.This was definitely not on my list of things to do, but then I looked out of the window... When your dog looks up at you like that, how can you not draw him??
(I had to photograph him for reference because it was clear that he wasn't going to pose for me for seven to eight hours).
To answer your questions: He is a purebred mutt. His mother is creamy off-white and medium-sized; his father is black, and small enough to eat for breakfast. He was an accident (of the variety where you don't watch your dog closely enough and she slips out for an amorous encounter). He likes dried squid, dirt, and being the centre of affection. He hates baths; in fact, it is common knowledge that he is every bit as disreputable as his owner.

Oh really! That program doesn't sounds familiar to me. I can use only photoshop now. I have to draw a dog portrait for my friend too. I'll do it in photoshop, and hope it will turn out as good as you did in this piece. I love the fur you made. Looks soft and real.

I left the leaves in because he looked like he was trying to hide behind them. But I have a no-leaves version; maybe I'll upload that in my scrapbook for people to see.

Amazing detail. Capturing fur and animal expressions aren't all that easy. Mine always come out cartoony. (I'm keeping it that way, mind you!) You're so scarily detailed.

Thanks very much! Can't do fur to save my life when it comes to traditional media, but it's easy with a tablet and stylus (assuming your picture's big enough that the jitters won't show up when you resize it).

Sebastian sounds like one of those goofy, doggy-dogs. I hope he doesn't think I'm food, but likely, his tail will sweep me off my feet.
I saw a really cool thing the other day, a WACOM Bamboo. But it's only for Window's Vista. But it's cool, nonetheless.

I'm more of a cat person but he makes me want to cuddle him... and never let go. But you probably wouldn't like me to strangle your dog, so...
Great work (as usual). I love the detailed fur the little glint on one of his teeth and the shine in his eyes. The leaves are gorgeously detailed as well - but not as huggable as the dog behind them.

I thought is was a photograoh a first glance. Very cool. I had a cat named Sebastian for years while I was growing up. It's a very good name for a pet of any type.
