Description
“Don’t leave me.”, she whispered to the stallion at her hooves, touching him gently with her nostrils. Tears where running down her cheeks, falling to the ground where the dry earth soaked them up like thirsty animal.
“Please don’t leave me.”, she said again but all she got as answer was a weak snort mixed up with coughing.
“Don’t cry my love.”, he whispered and his voice sound broken, just like cost him an endless amount of power to speak,”Please don’t cry.”
“Don’t leave me.”, she begged him and her violet eyes were sparkling the light of the fire she created to keep them warm.
“Can you hear him too?”, the stallion asked his eyes half closed.
“Hear him?”, she asked back flickering her ears nervously to every side before she raised her head and looked around. It was black around her. Only darkness.
“He’s calling my name.”, the stallion whispered.
“No. Don’t listen to him.”, she suddenly screamed as she realized about who he was speaking.
“His voice sound so gentle. Can you hear him?”,the stallion said again with a soft smile on his lips.
“Don’t listen to him.”, she begged again, ”Please don’t leave me.”
His breath became slow and steady while his eyes slowly close. She shook her head.
“No.”, she screamed before she fell to the ground right beside him screaming his name but her voice left unheard.
-----------
Aspasia galloped along the forest lighting the path up with the fire that danced around her hooves. It couldn’t be far anymore and only a minute later she arrived at the forest glade Zeloma told her about. The black mare lowered her head to sniff on a grey stone. This was the place Zeloma landed after her fall. Aspasia could still feel the magic as she walked around. Zeloma’s magic but also the one of Celes.
After a while she decided to stand still just listening to the forest and it’s voices. The trees were whispering soft words to her and in the distance a lonely owl sung her song to the moon. The black mare closed her violet eyes ant let herself fall into the darkness around her.
*Why did I went here?*, she asked herself but she couldn’t find an answer.
Zeloma watched her from the distance. She couldn’t leave her sister alone out in the dark. Even if they weren’t true sisters , for the roan mare all cavittos are somehow siblings. Just like all the gods are blood relatives. Only a minute later she could hear the sweet jingle noise of Scheherazad’s mane and she turned around to look at the magical creature.
“Celes send me to look after you and your sister.”, the doe-like creature said holding her head a bit low so that her antlers can’t get caught in some of the lower tree branches.
“I’m worried about her.”, the roan mare said, ”Once when we were younger she was totally different. Much wilder and a bit cheeky. I don’t recognize her. Maybe she feels lonely without her mate.”
“Her mate?”, Scheherazad asked and turned her ears towards the cavetto mare.
“Yes. A white stallion. Another cavitto just like me and her.”, Zeloma replied,”I guess they got separated just like Kataigída and I.”
Scheherazad looked back at the black mare on the forest glade.
“Her mate is dead.”, she said without turning her eyes from the mare.
“How…?”,Zeloma started but the magical creature answered faster than the cavitto could ask.
“Her eyes are clouded by a certain sadness and whenever she sees a loving couple a smile passed her lips. The smile of a widow , who was lost in a memory.”
“Oh no…”, Zeloma just whispered before she looked back at the black mare.
Aspasia opened her eyes again and took a deep breath. She looked around her a last time before she walked back to the border of the forest and from there, past the borders down to the lake to drink. Zeloma and Scheherazad didn’t follow her but returned back to Celes house.
“You return without your sister, Aruna?”, Celes asked the Cavitto mare with surprise and Zeloma nodded her head.
“Yes.I think she need some time for herself.”, the roan mare whispered.
The small Alvaris stallion stepped out of the house towards the mare and rubbed his head gently along her massive neck.
“I need to talk with you about your sister.”, he said.
“About Aspasia?”,she asked with surprise.
Celes nodded his head and walked passed Zeloma down to the sea. The cavitto mare followed the small stallion leaving Scheherazad behind. As they reached the shores he suddenly stopped and turned back towards the roan mare.
“Your sister wished to return right?”, he asked her and Zeloma nodded her head.
“Yes.”, she replied,”She want answers on her questions and if there’s one mare who will get them than it’s she.”
Celes shook his head.
“No.”, he said,”Your sister will never get an answer on one of her questions.”
“How?”, Zeloma asked as she heared Celes words.
“The stream of time whispered it into my ear.”, he answered.
“What will happen to her Celes?”, the cavitto asked worried.
“Nothing.”, the small stallion answered.
“But…”, Zeloma started.
“She will be fine but she will never find an answer. Time has it’s own plans for her. It designed her a path to go since she didn’t want to design herself one.”, the magician said.
“Is it a path of light or one filled with darkness?”, Zeloma asked her friend.
“I can’t tell you how the path will look but she’s perfectly able to light herself the path up ,if there should be dark corners.” , he replied.
“She is. She always was.”, the roan mare said.
A bit in the distance they could see a light coming nearer and nearer. Aspasia trotted along the beach back to the house of the magician. As she saw him and Zeloma down at the shores she joined them.
“Having a secret meeting at the beach?”, she joked and Celes needed to chuckle.
“No just a chat.”, Zeloma said with a smile,”But it starts getting cold. We should go in.”
“I made tea for us all.”, Celes said and Aspasia’s eyes lightened up from one moment to the other.
“Magical fruit tea?”, she asked.
“Yes.”, the Alvaris replied,”And cookies…well if Vankur and Skia haven’t eaten them all…”
The mares needed to laugh as they remembered how the little doe and the colt escaped with a basket full of cookies only a few days ago.
“Than let’s hope there are still some left when we return.”, Aspasia said before she followed Zeloma and Celes back to the house.
-------------
“We will stay together until the worlds collide.”, the white stallion whispered into the ear of the black mare. His deep blue eyes met her violet ones.
“Is it just an empty promise?”, she asked him.
“No. It’s an oath.”, he said,” A blood oath and if I should ever break it ,my soul shall be condemned to be restless for all eternity.”
“Don’t say such things.”, the black mare said,” You scare me.”
“I’m sorry.”, he whispered,”But I swear you I will never let you alone. Believe me Aspasia. I will always be with you.”
“I believe you don’t worry.”, she said rubbing her head on his neck before they both lay down on the sweet grass, letting themselves being covered by the darkness of the night.
__________
First part of Aspasia's story.
We learn a little bit about her past and what happen before she came to the isle.
And evil Celes knows already more than the others. Blame him for using time magic to look into the future. (you nasty little magician)
Just like with the first part of Zeloma's story no points for the pic here since it's her refpicture.
