What a dear old doggy. some how, she's not feeling that hat though haha !! i love animals in general, i couldn't hurt a fly literally and when i see mans best friend being abused or eaten in some countries, it sickens me. Both my parents died not so long back, still young they were, so i took their Doggy on. he's a good boy, 12 years old but still acts like a puppy. nice photo here.

Oh I'm very sorry to hear about your parents. That is terrible! I did not know my father, as he left when I was baptized. I did get to have all of 30 days with him when I was twenty. He is gone. And my mother died in 2004, still beautiful. Now my sister is gone, and I got stuck with my nephew (30) who doesn't do one thing I tell him to! What did I do in my life to ever deserve this?
I love all animals with the exception of a couple, But I never want to see one harmed in anyway. Thank God you took the pup! They will always be pups to me no mater how old they get. They really are Man's best friend!
My little Uhura was my puppy until she passed in 2017. I got her about 8 weeks old. She was shaking so bad and her eyes went in different directions. The lady at the SPCA told me she was beaten badly and thrown in the garbage to die. I had to have her. All I did was love her, She seldom barked, but gave me lots of eye contact to tell me what she wanted. I loved her to pieces. I get way to attached to dogs. I even held an umbrella for her if she had to go outside to do her business. Talk about spoiled.

Thank you, I got her just right after being weened from the SPCA, she was a tiny little ball of fur that shock more than I do, and her eyes went different ways! My heart bleed when the vet came over and told me that she was beaten and thrown in a garbage can before she was weened. The lady asked me so many questions about my life and when she found out I was home a lot of my life, she said great I'll get a cage and you can have her, but call me every week with an update and I'll wave the fees. I called for up to a year faithfully. I have never had a better dog than her and never will. Thank you again, and she is so sweet and patient and has all the virtues I wish some people had!

She even has a pearl necklaces from my older sister and a fashion zebra collar from my good friend!
Because of the injury, the medication has been keeping me awake as you know, but she comes into where I'm at and give's me this very tired look as if to tell me it's bed time already!
I love her to pieces and then some!

Most welcome, Dennis. My dog Peekeeboo wouldn't tolerate that at all. He's a ShihTzu-Poodle mix and even hate getting his hair clipped and a bandana around his neck! Otherwise he's very mellow. He'll be 13 next month on the feast of Our Lady of Fatima!

He sounds very cute. They are such company to us. I know people who have many, but I get attached to one and when they leave, I'm broken hearted. I love mixed breeds the best as I find they are more intelligent that pure breeds.

I know what you mean about when they pass on. I had to put two sweet dogs to sleep when they got too old. It's hard but then another one comes into your life and you get close to the new pup. I think we will see our pups when we pass on. It will be a new creation without sickness and death. I know the Church doesn't put much stock into my thinking but I still have hope. How can love die?
It's sad when dogs are over-bred and then they have all kinds of medical problems. I like a smaller dog because they don't eat as much and are easier to take care of.

My sister has small dogs and swears by them, as did my Aunt! Personally I like them mid sized! It is sad when breeders only care for them to win a show and not as their guardians. Very sad! I have seen and knew breeder, they will put a dog down if one thing is wrong. I haven't that kind of heart.
My Grandfather used to tell me a dog above all other of Gods animals will walk right into your heart and sit down and stay! I have found this to be true. I'm so glad you love your babies.
St. Thomas Aquinas argued that (and I'm really paraphrasing) basically if you dogs would make heaven even better for you, than they would be there. And I did chop his words up so please forgive me!

Today one of the Brothers that I know since he was just a baby Dominican called to say hi and see how I was feeling, and now this. Last night or very early this morning I was praying and asked Saint Dominic just o let me know he was around. And Bam! Just like that first my Brother and now this.
