Sort of... I mean yes they did, but really less deleted and more spread out across the rebellion sections. You still end up working your way down (and up) a number of multistory buildings, and then the Nexus contains a chunk of it too.

The whole level (aside from one unfinished part) was remade for the Episode 2 engine by awesome modder HGrunt. It really gives you an idea about what early HL2 was supposed to be. If you are into HL2 Beta stuff, I strongly recommend to play through it, though, sadly, I am not sure, if it works nowadays.
