Description I have been working on updating my Tachikoma for a while now, here is my near finished version of the front part of the tachikoma.

I completely remodeled it, added alot more detail, like the front vents which can move if i were to rig it, the bottom cones have six point vent holes a lot of them. The Fingers were remodeled to make them smoother as was the eyeballs and dome.

The legs were remodeled to include the cuts into the legs rather then modeling a leg and then cutting into the leg. The tires were given small squares to add to traction.

Some things i have to wrok on yet are the stand, as i will be making one that is built into the back ground as a mantaince stand.

The back ground will be switched with a modeled back ground showing a hanger with other tachikoms and vehicles with lower poly counts.

The textures were made in Photoshop, while the base images were images i found on the internet, and or were given to me from friends over the last few years.

As we all know the Tachikoma is from the TV show Ghost in the shell, so i claim no rights to it, however i did rework the eye sockets a little to make it easyer to work with, I couldn't model in the sockets after the dome was modeled without destorying the dome.

The entire model was modeled in Lightwave and UV maped in lightwave, While the textures were made in Photoshop.

What do you all think of this 136,169 polygon model? Any comments would be welcomed. and more view will be made soon, it takes about one hour to one hour thirty minutes to render this currently.

right now I am watching No. 6 I like this anime. I have watched a lot of them I tried watching the whole Ghost in the Shell but I haven't finished it as of yet. I seen half of it though. I also haven't finished seeing Eureka 7. Gundam I don't really like I also don't really like Eureka 7. The anime I like I guess are like Death Note, Kuroshitsuji, Inuyasha, and Fruits Basket.

thank you, the textures were created to give it a more military look, a used and abused military look. As for the detail, well to make anything look remotely real, you need a mind numbing level of detail either textured which i can not do at this time, or modeled in... guess which i chose to do.

Well, for me the end results matter the most. I don't really mind if a mesh has a high polygon count as long as your machine is able to handle it and produce great renders.

that is great for the art part of this field, but when it comes to production, such as movies and games... you need as low poly as you can get but max detail. Unfortentally in such productions, you would have a modeler (that would be me) and a texture artist (that would be the guy giving me the textures) After that, the textured model is sent to a lighting expert who then tweaks both the model and the textures to fit the lighting the art directer wants.

So i am playing 4 jobs, Art directer, modeler, texture artist, and lighting,... oh wait there is also a rigger... so that is 5 jobs in one... and i still can not get a dam job.
