This is a terrific photo! Would you mind sharing how you achieved the light effects? It's got that "God descending from heavens with beams of light" feel to it. Did you use a filter for that?

i've been at the same vieuwpoint at this last october! but there was a thunderstorm above us and the lightning kept hitting the hills!

I went to that same view but in the afternoon. The colors weren't as good. I wanted to go back the next morning at dawn, but my brother in law went off and we had to wait all day for him to come back. we thought he'd maybe died going down the trail or something.

it's a great place -- but 99% of the pics that come out of the Grand Canyon are just flat and hazy.

Delacorr----This is fabulous! I love how the light shines down on the canyon in a sort of 'unearthly' way. It seems so dreamlike because the gray clouds clump together to form dark figures, but in the middle- a bright light over powers the darkness, and conqers the canyon.
