I doodled this as practice for commissions a while ago; I really enjoy the style of Okami, and I want to do some more tribute drawings for it in the future. It’s such a wonderful game, and has been my all-time favorite game (even surpassing Pokémon) for many years.
Anyway, enjoy!

What a gorgeous piece! For a second there I thought it was the official art. Would you mind sharing the the brushes and textures you used? I've always wanted to imitate their style.

Thank you so much! The main brush I used is called Kyle's Ultimate Mr. Natural Photoshop Inking brush, and can be downloaded here (it's a free download I believe, just click 'I want this'). It is a really nice hard brush for inking, and can give really nice effects that look like hard brushstrokes. For the coloring, I just used the basic brushes that come with Photoshop, nothing special. The textures are just watercolor/textured paper on another layer set to Overlay to transfer the effects through, you can find many images like that if you search for paper textures.

I think Shiranui is my favorite character in Okami and Okamiden. It's so majestic and powerful that it even blows restored Ammy miles away, in my opinion. (Reason I'm using 'it' instead of 'him' or 'her' is because of all the gender confusion surrounding Shiranui.)

If there's one thing dA needs, is a crossover battle between Ammy and Sif, The Great Grey Wolf.

Sif, the Great Grey Wolf, a boss in Dark Souls. Fights with a greatsword in mouth. (Sounds familiar?)
Companion to Knight Artorias who saccrificed himself so that Sif could live. In the Dark Souls DLC it is possible to fight alongside Puppy Sif. If you do this fight before doing the fight against Sif, there will be a special cutscene, showing that Sif reluctantly fight your character.
Also, Sif looks similar to Ammy's Beta Model.
I think that the Sif/Ammy battle would be quite even since Sif get his strength from his sheer size while Ammy get her strength from magic.

Oh god, I don't even know how many times I've played it. I played the original PS2 version at least 10-20 times, I've 100%'d the HD version twice, and played through it at least another 5 or so times. I just love playing it, haha.
