I think, maybe-- just maybe-- I was meant to be a traditional American Comic Arteest all along. MAYBE.Man. So fun. I AM SO PROUD OF THIS THING SO FAR. <3333 *HUGS IT* I just love working with FIGURES and EMOTIONS. And no backgrounds <3
Explanation? Booster Gold and Blue Beetle (Justice League spin offs and such) make me laugh and cry. They. Are. AMAZING. And later on, they seriously get into a fight-- like, a hurt-you-hurt-me fight, and show amazing full-out spasms of VULNERABLE MALE EMOTION, FOR EACH OTHER, WITHOUT losing their machismo, which is so, so freaking cool.
They're the most open best friends in the world of ever <3 (which makes me think they have nothing to hide, and thus, my fangirl mind refuses to slash em XD)
And... they just 'made up' behind the scenes from this big fight, apparently D: But as a fan, I can't accept this, so I have to draw a gooshy best-friend comic, where Ted comes to realize THAT HE DOES NOT HAVE TO GROW UP, THANK YOU, MR. DICK. (And plus, it's 12 pages, so I can actually finish a COMIC. HOSHIT.)
Booster is so cuddlable when he's upset and nonsensical. BAAAAAH.

Oh wow. Just this one page has already tugged as many heart strings as Johns' run on the title (man, I wanted to hug something every time he talked about Ted).
That scene is always so hard to read. And this follows that vein nicely. Hardcore man-emotion, and pretty much exactly what I'd want to hear Booster say to him. BRB, gotta read the rest now.

AW WHAT. Why? Who runs this TPTB conspiracy?? Superbuddies was the prime period of deliciously lame superhero selling-out! So much character growth... out the window? NOOO. Give us back the zany incharacter stuff!
Johns' run? I KNOOOW. Didn't you just LOVE how... uninhibited he was in his emotions for Ted? Like, they didn't softpedal it and try to have Booster hide behind his machismo. When the fans knew he was going 'OMG NO TED!!!' on the inside, he expressed an infinitely better-structured agony and then recapped how much Ted meant to him :3 Juuuust for the fan(girl)s. OH. I LOVED IT. OhgodIdid.
