Max’s freshly-assembled ‘SuperBuddy’ team heads up to Greece to battle some robotic titans infringing on Wonder Woman’s turf—but what happens to our two favorite second-stringers when those titans are hiding some electronic-canceling tech? What makes a hero, the gadgetry or the ordinary men who might die when it all goes awry?

So, coolest-story-ever time.

I took a class called American Superheroes in Spring of ’10 and (along with writing essays over Batman’s psychosis and Dark Phoenix’s representation of the threat of female sexuality as was feared in the 80’s) I got to draw a comic for my final project.

Seriously? Seriously. And I got to center it around my favorite heterosexual-life-partner DC goobers. Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. WOAH.

I cheated, sorta, but I was desperate to write about Booster and Beetle at least ONCE this semester if I was in a frikkin superheroes class. This is basically a comic-ized version of an older piece of fanfiction I wrote called Stripped. ([link] ) It was easy enough to translate it and I got to make a shining point about human heroes vs metahuman heroes and why we love the former so much more sometimes.

I’m all about CC, but please no criticism on THIS art! Sooooo bad. I drew everything in a single morning, I had to incorporate several artistic techniques from ‘Understanding Comics’, and I also had to write an essay describing my usage of said techniques along with the larger message of the comic. The essay was… so stupid, but my teacher and I have a bond. He knew what I was TRYING to say.

For the first time EVER, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle got an A+ in academia! Woah! God, life is grand.
